Do you like vintage cars? While enjoying your stay at the Hotel Danube, don’t miss the opportunity to attend the Traversée Paris Estivale (Summer Paris Crossing). The capital’s largest gathering of vintage cars is scheduled for Sunday, July 21st. If you missed the winter edition, don’t miss this summer’s event. This cross-Paris classic run only takes place every six months.
A nod to the past
Fans of vintage cars come twice a year to see or participate in the capital’s largest summer classic car run, organised by the Vincennes en Anciennes association.
Nearly 600 vehicles from a host of international marques take part. Automobiles, bicycles, mopeds and motorcycles, as well as the tractors and buses of yesteryear, wend their way through the streets of the capital.
The departure point is 10 kms to the south of Paris, at the Conservatoire National des Véhicules Anciens in the suburb of Antony. The procession will make its way to the Meudon Paris Observatory, where festivities and entertainment will take place in the grounds. A picnic also awaits the participants. The non-participating public is welcome, too, provided they come without a car and bring their own food.
Take the opportunity to admire the great vehicles of the past, such as the Traction Avant, 2 CV, DS, Dauphine and many more!
A very Parisian drive ... on the bridges of Paris
If you’re in Paris on Sunday, July 21st, 2018, don’t miss this colourful and joyous journey through the heart of the capital. It’s a great thrill to see these wonderful old vehicles pass before you in stately splendour! The route runs along the banks of the Seine, crossing the capital’s 37 bridges, including, of course, the majestic Pont Alexandre III, the Pont Royal, the oldest bridge in Paris and the Pont d'Iena. Discover this celebration of vehicular history during your stay in Paris!
