Christmas in Paris 2013 will be irresistible
Perhaps more than any other capital, Paris embraces the festive season and celebrates the joy of this special time. One of the world’s most renowned and lovely avenues, the Champs Elysees, is garlanded throughout its 2.4 kilometre length with Christmas lights. The 200 plane trees from the Arc de Triomphe to the Place de la Concorde sparkle and twinkle in an enchanted parade guaranteed to melt the heart of the frostiest Scrooge!
The magnificent department stores of the Boulevard Haussmann are particularly noted for their spectacular Christmas decorations, but other shops also make an extra special effort to provide a visual feast of festive cheer. Throughout the city there is a huge selection of entertainment to choose from, with concerts, shows, musicals and more. Christmas masses, concerts and exquisite nativity scenes are to be seen in the many lovely Parisian churches. Each day throughout December Notre Dame Cathedral stages sound and light shows depicting the story of the nativity at half hourly intervals.
Christmas markets offer a delightful shopping experience in various locations throughout the city. Truly, Paris holds an enchantment like no other at this time of celebration. Come and be charmed.
