Paris is always presenting exhibitions of impressive quality and diversity. During your stay at the Hotel du Danube, you can take advantage of being in the heart of the city by visiting some of the exhibitions that will make their mark on 2023.
A few steps from the hotel
A 10-minute walk from the Hotel du Danube, you can start your cultural tour at the Monnaie de Paris. This magnificent building on the banks of the Seine is currently offering an astonishing retrospective on the representation of money in art. This insightful exhibition analyses the treatment of poverty, wealth and money, through works from all eras and all walks of life. Cross the Latin Quarter to the Musée du Luxembourg for an exhibition devoted to Léon Monet, the overlooked brother of Claude Monet. Although Léon remained in the shadows, he played a considerable role in the career of his brother and of other artists of the time.
Across the Seine
Less than 20 minutes away on foot, on the Right Bank, you can discover a new Parisian space dedicated to contemporary art: the Bourse du Commerce – Pinault Collection. From February 8th, you can admire a selection of photos, films and installations by current artists on the theme of climate change. At the heart of the Jardin des Tuileries, the Musée de l'Orangerie is dedicating an exhibition to a pivotal and crucial period in the work of Matisse: the 1930s. Finally, the Centre Pompidou offers two very different cultural events. The first tries to unravel the mystery of Serge Gainsbourg and his relationship to writing, while the second offers a beautiful showcase for the Indian painter Sayed Haider Raza.
Art and culture are always in the spotlight in Paris. Take advantage of the varied and high-quality exhibitions on offer during your stay at the Hotel du Danube. You’ll be spoiled for choice.
