For its 41st edition, the capital’s major book event, renamed the Festival du Livre de Paris (Paris Book Festival), returns from April 21st to 23rd. For this occasion, why not treat yourself to a themed break by exploring the streets of the Latin Quarter, with its literary cafés, bookstores and arthouse cinemas, during your stay at the Hotel du Danube?
The Paris Book Festival: a window open to all literature
The objective of the festival is to bring together readers and book professionals in the same place to meet and interact. At the Festival du Livre de Paris you will find thrillers as well as children's literature, novels and essays, comics and works of spirituality. This year, Italian literature is in the spotlight, and the theme is revealed in its most diverse aspects, from Erri de Luca to new voices such as Francesca Manfredi, Sacha Naspini and Beatrice Salvioni, via Giuseppe Conte, Maurizio Ferraris and Alessandro Campi.
Outside the walls
The heart of the event is located in the Grand Palais Éphémère, the superb wooden temporary exhibition venue situated at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, just 10 minutes by bike from the Hotel du Danube. But many other activities are planned outside the walls. You can head to the Collège des Bernardins, which hosts the Festival of Religious Books, or the Museum of Arts and Crafts, which houses a celebration of Science for All. You can also attend exceptional meetings with Marie Quéru on the theme of ecology at the Académie du Climat, with Jean-Pierre Filiu at the Médiathèque Marguerite Yourcenar, or an event at the Sorbonne with Amélie and Juliette Nothomb.
The Grand Palais Éphémère will be transformed from April 21st to 23rd, 2023, into a true paradise for book lovers. Remember to book your stay at the Hotel du Danube to take advantage of it!
