For the second consecutive year, the virtuoso esquire troop of famous circus Alexis Gruss is coming back to Paris for a unique show. This time, they are not alone but joined by the Compagnie des Farfadais, a troop of high-skilled aerialist acrobats. Gathering 40 horses and 20 acrobats for 2h30, « Pégase et Icare » is a grandiose show that the whole family will enjoy !
The show
« Pégase et Icare » celebrates the encounter of two troops of circus artists : the esquires of the Alexis Gruss circus and the aerialist acrobats of the Farfadais troop. On one side, Pegasus, and on the other, Icarus : while some tame the untamable winged horse, the others whirl in the air, closer and closer to the sun.
The impressive aerobatics and taming numbers that have made the Grusses famous are mixed with acrobatic performances in the air and on the ground (and even in water) that will blow you away. With « Pégase et Icare », the artists play with the elements. While the Farfadais are whirling between water and air, the race of the horses of the Gruss stable pushes the squires for earth to sky, with fire at the tip of their fingers. Numbers of aerobatics and juggling on horses alternate and mix with acrobatics and aerial silk numbers.
The ensemble is accompanied by the live performance of Sylvain Rolland's Grand Orchestra, covering modern music hits that anchor the myth of Icarus in modern times. Between Adele, Britney Spears, Metallica and Coldplay, the talented singer Barbara Nicoli gives new heights to the show while she sings in tremendous costumes above, under and in the middle of the aerobatics numbers, tearing the invisible wall between the acrobats and the musicians.
Icarus, son of Daedalus who created his own wings to go and touch the sun, and Pegasus, the legendary winged horse, meet in this beautiful tale that is put to life in crazy costumes that sometimes take a life of their own. The ensemble shines in a grandiose and poetic atmosphere that will ravish children as well as adults.
